Slovakia, as a member of the EU, has been committed to adopt several new legislative regulations in the field of water management that moved wastewater treatment to a qualitatively higher level. More stringent legislation in wastewater treatment affected both municipal and industrial discharge. The stricter regulations have acceded a modernization and intensification of existing wastewater technologies as well as a construction of new wastewater treatment plants. These steps in wastewater management has become one of the key activities in environmental protection in Slovakia.

EPRA was established to provide expert and professional services in the field of water and wastewater management. EPRA is mainly devoted to wastewater treatment technologies, optimization of municipal and industrial WWTPs and thus contributing to improve a quality of surface water bodies and environmental protection in the country.
